Mango's fast fashion. Spanish retailer Mango is expanding its 24-hour online delivery service this month from 10 European countries to 28 and also launching the service in the United States. The speedy service allows for items to be prepared for shipment just 45 minutes after they are ordered online and delivered to customers by the next day.

India's Future Group avoids online... Future Group, a large and pioneering company in Indian retail, is bucking the overall industry trend and says it will not invest or operate in e-commerce for at least two more years. CEO Kishore Biyani says that its traditional brick-and-mortar stores yield much higher returns and that it is "stupid to be in the online space," which he says is not yet profitable in India.

... as The Collective there grows. The Collective , the largest luxury multibrand retailer in India, will expand its footprint and brand assortment in the coming months. In addition to adding two more stores to its current stable of eight, the retailer, which is owned by Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, will increase its already 100+ brand assortment to include Paul Smith and Farah, among others, and will also offer new product categories such as electronics.


Charney's comeback. Dov Charney, the founder of American Apparel who was infamously let go from brand three years ago prior to its filing for bankruptcy and being acquired by Canada's Gildan Activewear, has launched a new venture : a factory in Los Angeles that makes a new basics collection called Los Angeles Apparel . Much like American Apparel, one of the company's aims is to make garments locally with materials that are also produced in the USA.


Men's weeks wrap. The Lanvin show in Paris yesterday concluded the seasonal showing of spring-summer 2018 menswear collections in Europe. Its major trends included a return to 1980s looks, spectacular staging and promotion by young influencers. The men's shows will resume in New York on July 10.


Adobe's apparel analysis. Software company Adobe has released its first Digital Price Index , or DPI, for the online apparel sector. Using data from its Analytics Cloud, the company determined that prices for apparel sold online fall more quickly than in standard brick-and-mortar retailing. For example, last month's figures showed they deflated 4.3 percent year-over-year compared to .9 percent deflation rate shown by the Consumer Price Index. The data also revealed that the vast majority of online apparel products target women.


Hot dam! The first-ever fashion show to take place atop the Hoover Dam will happen this morning in Nevada. Conceived by Vietnamese model and fashion show producer Jessica Minh Anh , the fashion event will be the latest she has staged at a world famous landmark. She has previously done shows at The Grand Canyon and The Eiffel Tower, among many others.
